Why is this experience on the Challenge List?
Disney on Ice is one of those experiences that I have heard many of my friends go to when they were younger and talking about the magic of the experience. Hence, this is why it has always appealed to me as something that I must go and see for myself.
Description:
In 2017 around Christmas time, the opportunity came up that for the following year the Disney on ice show would be ‘100 years of Disney magic’ which showcase a range of Disney movies. I decided for Christmas presents for my younger brother and sister that I would buy them tickets to go see Disney on ice (as I prefer to buy experiences to do with them rather than material possessions).
So after seven months of waiting for the show, we finally got to go on a Saturday in July. My Mum, brother, sister, grandmother and myself were all dropped off at Hisense Arena for the performance. My little sister was even dressed up similar to that of a princess from a Disney movie and it was gorgeous to see so many people dressed up as their favourite characters.
The show started and it was spectacular, watching professional ice skater athletes perform on the ice – they made it all look easy! They did an incredible job connecting all the movies to get the best of all the Disney magic. One of the best parts was seeing all our favourite Disney characters come together like never seen before.
I also loved getting to sneakily sing along with my siblings to our favourite Disney songs especially “You’ll make a man out of me” from Mulan and “You’ve got a friend in me” from Toy Story. Really, who can’t help but crack a smile when listening to those songs and sing along.

Would I do it again?
Of course, it is a Disney show they can choose from such a wide variety of movies to turn into an ice performance which means that they are constantly changing what the show is about. I was fortunate that when I went they had a special event as it was the 100 years of Disney magic and I got to see a range of classic and popular movies complicated together for the ultimate magical experience.
Highlight:
My little sister said that the best part of Disney on Ice was “getting to see the movies being performed on ice”.
For me, the best part was getting to share this experience with my brother, sister, Mum and grandmother.
The show that we chose to watch was the 100 years of Disney Magic which meant that we got to see all the Disney classics performed on ice which was just like magic!
Cost:
The cost of the tickets were $40 each.
