Date achieved:
Saturday 29th December 2018
Where?
Marvel Stadium, Australia
Why is this experience on the Challenge List?
My brother plays junior cricket and is always going on about the game and the Melbourne Renegades, so I decided I wanted to go to witness a game for myself with my brother.
Description:
It was a few days after Christmas in 2018 that my family was looking for things to do and we decided to go and watch a big bash match of the Melbourne Renegades vs Sydney Sixers. The stadium was quite full with fans everywhere, we were all going for the Melbourne Renegades as that is my brothers favourite team.
We took our seats and watched the match, there were so many things going on with pre game and half time entertainment and at the end of the match the players even walked around signing things.
Half way through the match I got to walk around the stadium which had multiple things to do with the kids where we got to go on a giant inflatable slide (which the kids absolutely loved and went on it so many times).
The game seemed to go quickly and that is probably the best part about big bash matches it that are short compared to that of a test match. Even though at the end of the match the Renegades lost it was still fun being there and getting to experience it.
Would I do it again?
I would go to another cricket if I had the chance to go to another big bash match. Also I would probably go to the Boxing Day test match as that is such an iconic match in Australia every year.
Highlight:
Getting to watch someone hit a sixer because if they did the atmosphere in the stadium changed so dramatically it was amazing, there were fireworks, music and thuderous claps and stomping of feet.
Cost:
The tickets are $5 for kids and $20 for adults and for the entertainment and the match you watch its a pretty fair deal.
