Where?
My grandparents house
Why is this experience on the Challenge List?
Growing up and watching American movies and seeing in them that they have waffles for breakfast sounds pretty good. In my family we usually just have pancakes for breakfast if its a special occasion. So I wanted to experience eating waffles as I had never tried one before.
Description:
My birthday was a few days earlier and my grandmother said she was having my cousins over for the day and if I wanted to go round and join them for lunch. When she asked everyone what to have for lunch, waffles were definitely a clear winner.
So on my lunch break I rushed around to my grandparents to join them in the making of the waffles. My grandmother had even found her old waffle maker so that we could get the proper shape. It was so easy the batter is similar to pancakes and then its just poured into the waffle maker. We waited a few minutes and then ta-da they were done. I added some maple syrup on top of mine and it was delicious. Everyone aggreed that they were so tasty and we wondered why our grandmother had been hiding the waffle maker all these years.
Would I do it again?
Since then we have made waffles about three more times, its a really special treat for when the family goes to my grandparents for lunch. Its definitely worth trying them.
Highlight:
Opening up the waffle maker and after the steam goes then it reveals this amazingly cooked waffle…
