Why is this experience on the Challenge List?
When I was in school I would carry a notebook with me everywhere and in this notebook I would jot down any notes that were important, scribbles of art and poems. These poems I used as an outlet to get my thoughts onto paper and it was a great way to just let everything flow. Later on I just didn’t do it anymore, I’m not sure why but I just stopped. So this experience was to write about anything, in a constructive way in the form of a poem.
Description:
This particular experience sat on my list uncompleted for quite a while, I guess you could say it was because I had writers block, I just wasn’t sure what to write about.
Then on a Saturday whilst I was babysitting (the kids were sleeping) I decided that I was going to write about ‘Challenge. Adventure. Achieve.’ it is basically my lifes motto and its something that it is really important to now.
As I had a goal of what I wanted to include in the poem and what the theme was about, it took two attempts and I had this final piece, I am really proud of this and I want it to be a further inspiration for other people to go out chase their dreams and find adventure in everyday life.
Would I do it again?
I usually try and carry paper or notebooks with me so that if an idea sparks then I can quickly write it down, so I definitely will be trying to write more poems in the future and maybe even challenge myself with different styles of poetry.
Highlight:
The whole writing process, I actually enjoyed it all and it was nice to just being writing creatively and free again.
My hope for this poem that one day someone will read this and find inspiration to challenge themselves with adventures.
Cost:
FREE!!! Gotta love those free experiences.
